Bell Telephone partial service!

We and many others on our rural road in Pontypool, Ontario, have been experiencing continuous interupted telephone service, (3-5 years) including being cut off line when using our PC's, and have received nothing but excuses and disdain from Bell's, so called customer care centre in India and here in Ontario

We have, over the last several years repeatedly complained bitterly, about the way in which we have been treated, with the result that the interuptions continue with even more regularity, especially when it rains! Of course we have brought this to Bell's attention, Oh! it cannot be the undergroung lines, they are waterproof.

We have sent numerous emails to there executive offices, with the promise that everything will be looked after! wrong!

They persisit in telling us that they cannot find anything wrong with the lines, or there favourite line is "it must be in the office" never once over the years explaining to us that the office is a substation box, just over the other side of the highway.

Many of us are seniors and God forbid that we should need any of the emergency services, such as Fire or Ambulance.

It was our unfortunate experience to have to call an Ambulance this year when my wife had serious heart problms and ended up in Kingston Hospital having to have heart surgery.

I cannot even begin to contemplate the outcome had our phone line not been in working condition that day.

We just do not know what else to do, they asked us to phone them when the phones were out??? DuuH!

One of our better off friends down the street has now had there phone taken out competely and has purchased a dish system with cell phone, just because they fear the worse in an emergency situation.

It would be great if we could all afford to do this, but we just cannot.

It has been been made very clear to Bell Canada what could happen in case of an emrgency, but they say nothing!!!

Obviously, they do not feel it warrants spending the money to fix the problem.

We find it incredible that if we were to stop paying our bill, first they would stop our service, then sue us for what would be owing, yet they refuse to compensate us, or discount our phone bills or better yet,fix the problem.

I have a suggestion for them.

Supply all the families with cell phones and charge us the same as we now pay, for our other, disfunctional land line services.

The CRTC were notified about all of this, twice, and to the best of our knowledge, did absolutely nothing to ensure that our full service was reinstated.

(The CRTC has even now granted Bell permission to slow down its delivery speed for PC computers)

All of us are totally appalled at how Bell Canada is allowde get away with this kind of so called service in rural Ontario.

Time for the government to step in and demand that Bell up date its rural service or fix it. Goodness knows, we on our road have all paid Bell Canada a hell of a lot money over the last 40 or so years. We Canadians deserve better!!
