Jeffery Homes Doesn't Go The Extra Mile

We bought our house from Jeffery Homes 5 years ago. Overall we were very happy with the whole experience. Everyone we talked to had told us how Jeffery always goes the extra mile for their customers.

Recently we discovered a small crack in our foundation. It was leaking water. The crack is not large enough to be considered a major structural problem, so it is not covered by any warranty.

Although Jeffery's head office referred us to a trades person who fills these sorts of cracks, they were not willing to pay for the service (which they estimated would be a couple of hundred dollars).

I was told the cracking is a normal occurrence. I was surprised about that, and haven't met anyone else in our neighbourhood with the same issue.

I understand that Jeffery does not have to pay for this crack. But I guess I just thought they would since the house is still fairly new, the cost is inexpensive, and they are known for customer service.
