I had an appointment with the window sales on 7/29/09. I had to run out for a few minutes, expecting I will get a call when the person is on the way, well I got a call, they said the guy was at my home. I said "I'll be there in 10 minutes" we got home and nobody was there. I called and they said the guy waited 45 minutes before calling the office who in turn called me. I was only gone about half hour to begin with!. Then they said we'll make another appointment...7/31/09. A different salesman this time...he was 27 minutes late, the left side of his shirt was out and he had a big hole in it. He measured and did the pitch and his price for basic aluminum impact windows (9 windows) was $14,000. I asked about the warranty and he said it was 5 years. I told him his warranty sucks and his price was too high and he told me his product was much better than what I was comparing it with (vinyl, insulated impact energy star low E widows). Any my issue wasn't impact, I really don't care about impact, I want noise and temperature relief. He tried to tell me his windows were energystar and I told him they couldn't be since aluminum is not energy star. he finally called and got corrected.

Anyway, a manager called the next day to see how it went. After I gave him the report, he apologized, told me there were 4 types of windows and asked if he could send out one more rep, some one who "knows what he is doing". The appointment was supposed to be today at 3pm...at 4:45, we called to see where the rep was and we were told the appointment got canceled.

We were then told "well you got an estimate on Friday, what more do you want?" I was told by someone there that what the manager said is incorrect. So I just told him to expect yet another mark online and to have a good day.

I AGREE and have found several stories like ours....I have just had a very frustrating evening dealing with Sears. This is the second time a sales person or representative from Sears has lied and misrepresented their products and services. We purchased a matress and box spring on 5/29. It was supposed to be delivered on 6/13, they postponed our delivery to 6/17, then called four times to confirm delivery on th 17th, even gave us a two hour delivery window. When the time came and went we called the call center, no one could answer our question or tell us why our mattress wasn't delivered. When I asked to speak to a manager they put me on hold for several minutes and then claimed a manager was not present. They could not tell me when the matress would be delivered, and suggested I go back to the store to talk to the sales person. Of coure the 1800 cost of the matress was already charged to our card. I went to the store and there people began interested in helping, but in the end could do nothing. They called the call center themselves and met with the same frustration of people changing their answers five seconds after giving them and being put on hold so long we should have hung up but that is what they wanted. At one point I spoke to a call center manager and told her what her representative had told me and what he said he marked in my file. She told me she had no record of the comments and had no representative by that name so now I guess I can only believe that call center workers are so deceptive they have to give out fake names to aviod anything being traced back to them. Of course the more likely explanation is that Sears does lie, expects they can run you from representative to manager to manager, all denying what the other said until you are so frustrated it is easier to just purchase a replacement product from a competitor, which is what I would recommend everyone do in the first place. I purchased a matress three weeks ago and have had delivery promised twice and still no matress has been delivered! DO NOT SHOP AT SEARS they will not deliver the promised product at the promised time and they will not care at all that you are inconvienced!
