Concert tickets
|
TicketMaster US I recently purchased concert tickets online to Miley Cyrus for two of my children to attend her concert. After purchasing the tickets, I received a confirmation e-mail stating they are paperless tickets and I would need to show my credit card and ID at the gate. I called Ticket Master for an explanation and was told I had to attend the concert and show my credit card and ID to get my children in. I asked if my wife could take my daughter instead as it is a joint credit card account. Again the answer was no, the person whose name appears on the credit card must attend. The explanation from Ticket Master was that this is the wave of the future and it prevents fraud. I understand to a certain degree, but I asked if I could send my credit card with my teenager along with a letter signed by me. I was told no. I asked what people do who don't own credit cards or are given the tickets as gifts. I was told that it "forces" people to get credit cards. With credit cards interest rates well into the 20+%, this sounds like a way credit card companies are trying to make some big bucks. Sorry Ticket Master, but no more ticket purchases from my household!
