I was sold a Lemon

1992 Nissan Sentra Eddie's Auto Repair 970 Dee Dee Street Bossier City, Lo 71111 US I was sold a lemon. On July 6, 2009, after explaining to the seller the car in question would be used for everyday travel of about 140 miles to transport my 17 year old back and forth to college, I bought a car from Eddie Evans of Eddieâs Auto Repair. He verbally expressed to me that the car would be great for him since he had just put in a new motor and did some other minor repairs to the car. He said the car was like new and we would not have a problem. However, that was not the case. I bought the car on July 6th and took possession of the car on July 10th. The car was then parked in front of my residence until July 27th at which time my son returned from summer vacation. He drove the car to a nearby business to get an inspection sticker, to a nearby Wal-Mart and then returned home. The car remained parked there until the next day at which time my son left to visit a friend. After driving about 10 minutes the car overheated and broke down on the interstate. I then had the car towed to Mr. Evansâ garage because the car would not start. Today August 25, 2009, the car still remains parked there. There has been no attempt to call me about the car. I have gone to the business several times and no one had even looked at the car. Finally on my last attempt he informs me that a head gasket was blown on the motor; and his wife tried to provoke an altercation when I told her I wanted my money back. When I bought the car Mr. Evans told me that the motor had only 46,000 miles on it and was in excellent condition. He said he would provide me with documentation to prove this but has yet to do so. Upon further inspection of the car, a broken radiator cap and broken spark plug wire were found. I believe that Mr. Evansâ intentionally sold me a car with a bad motor so that I would have to come back to him for repairs as a way for him to make money. His wife told me that it was âjust a $1500! What did you expect??â I expected a car that would operate as the seller claimed it would. I am a single mother of three and $1500 is not something that just grows on trees for me. Now I donât have the money or the car. I sent a letter to Mr. Evans to try and resolve this issue between us civilly without involving outside interference, but just as with all my other attempts, I have yet to receive a response. I would like a refund of the $1500 that I paid for the car. From: Message Author (click here to email author) Date: Tuesday, 25-Aug-09 15:10:27 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
