FORD MOTOR CO

FORD F 150 Ford Motor Corporation US We purchased a FORD F150 from my Dad's estate. It had approximately 8000 miles on it - still under warranty at the time. Dad had the Ford Motor Company change out the Rear End (to make have Heavy Duty Towing capability. Dad became gravely ill before using the truck to tow anything - and passed away. The truck had just a little over 8000 miles on it when we bought it from the estate and just over 27,300 miles on it when my husband heard a strange noise. We contacted FORD MOTOR CO in Lockhart - we had the truck towed from our home to Lockhart - we were afraid to drive it further. They "fixed" it - $647.00 later. Within a few days - my husband heard a noise again. He called Ford and was told that the "TONE RING" that was replaced could possibly have a "break in period". The sound got worse - we waited a week or so and it became horrid. Again, we called FORD. This time, my husband opted to drive it to Lockhart because he was made to feel that it would "be ok". I was following behind and the noise was horribly loud. I prayed the entire way because I could hear it in my car - loudly. As it turned out The BOLTS used by FORD MOTOR CO. were SUB STANDARD apparently because two of them had totally broken (looked kind of like a slinky) and the other two were stretched (resembling a not quite fully extended slinky). There was no charge for this to be corrected. The folks at Lockhart Ford Motor Company were kind and considerate and were concerned once they realized something was WRONG. My first complaint is that the first breakdown should NOT have happened when the truck has less than 30,000 miles on it. FORD Trucks are advertised as Made to last - and certainly I hope more than 30,000 miles! My next complaint is that we should not have been charged for the repair because it was obviously done wrong in the first place - because of sub-standard bolts. (I do not have a problem necessarily with Ford Motor Co in Lockhart - they could not have known that the bolts were sub-standard -FORD CORPORATION, however, should have known that they were sending sub-standard bolts out for their franchises to use. Surely they have some sort of inspection process for the products they put their names on - then again, look at what has happened to this truck - obviously a piece of junk) FORD MOTOR CORPORATION does NOT stand behind it's "FORD TRUCKS - FORD TOUGH" advertising campaign. My husband could have been killed! How many other consumers of FORD F150 trucks are at risk? I used to let stuff like this go - this is my first ANGRY AS YOU KNOW WHAT over paying a lot of money for something that isn't what it's supposed to be. FORD CORPORATION doesn't care - I have several e-mails from their customer service representative that I printed up to keep - fact is - MY HUSBAND COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED, along with anyone who may have been driving behind him or beside him and FORD doesn't give a rats rear end!
