Gateway customer service terrible!

laptop hard drive under warranty Gateway Gateway, Inc. 7565 Irvine Center Drive Irvine, CA 92618 Irvine, CA 92618 US www.gateway.com My son's three month old laptop's hard drive died in the middle of July. We called for support right away and now five weeks later, after at least 10 calls, Gateway has finally acknowledged that we actually have purchased this item. They have yet to FIX it, even though it is under warranty. We have spent endless hours faxing them information, talking to customer service reps and even having Costco reps try to mediate the calls to only have Gateway not only refuse to help, but be consistently rude and disrespectful. I will NEVER buy Gateway after this experience. I just purchased a ZX4800 02 and could not get the wireless mouse and keyboard to work. After talking to customer service for over 1/2 hour and telling them that it was new out of box, they decided it was defective. That was after telling the tech twice that I did not have a USB connected. I did not have one. Never once did he say "We pack/store it in the mouse." I had to drive 45 minutes home to Google problem, to discover it was not defective and where to find the USB connect. Worked just fine then, but now she moved here in new england and is having issue connecting to our wifi network. I've called a customer service rep. for her and had to go to so many computerized service reps. Finally i got a live person, but from overseas, she told me that it was the anti virus soft wear and needed to contact them. So i did and got 3 run arounds. So i called gateway and complained what i went through. She then connected me to another overseas service rep. and was told that there was a fee to send a tech. Nope; i'll never purchase a gateway.
