Robert Madison and C &R Landscaping and Construction took advantage of me!!!

I went under contract with Robert Madison for a landcaping project 6/1/09 to which he was to complete in a couple of days with weather permitting. Robert Madison requested $2,400 up front to start the project. The total project was to cost $4,800 so I gave him half of the money up front. Robert Madison told me to write the check in his wife's name Carrie Juarez because they were switching the business name so we needed to make it out to her. I guess at this point I should have known something was fishy. But I trusted Robert because he came off as a good guy trying to make an honest living so I wrote the check out to his wife. Robert and his wife were at the bank within minutes from me writing them the check and they got 1/2 of the money to start the project.

Robert starts the project and promises the world to me. He further explains how incredible everything will look and some really cool extras he could do if we were interested. This is when everything went downhill with Robert Madison, Carrie Juarez, and C & R Landscaping and Construction.

Robert would tell me everyday that he would be there at 8am in the morning and then he wouldn't show up until the afternoon and only work 2-3 hours tops. A couple of days go by and Robert just doesn't show up or call. This is when I constantly had to follow up with him on when the project was to be completed. After 1 week, he finishes a retaining wall for me which was about 10% of the total project. Roberts asks me for an advance of $700 because he needs more money up front for the project. Desperately wanting to get this project done I give him the money. Again, the check is cashed within minutes of giving it to him. Robert shows up the next day with a couple pipes and sprinkler heads and says he will finish the sprinkler system within 1-2 days. At this point we are 3 weeks into the project. All of sudden out of nowhere apparantley Roberts health deteriorates and I cannot get a hold of him. His wife Carrie Juarez finally sends me a text after a week apologizing and letting me know about Robert and that the project will be finished before June 29 at C & R Landscaping's expense. Now we are 1 month into the project.

Robert claims to get better with his health and advises me that he will have his crew out there immediately to finish the project. Of course no one shows. Then all of sudden Robert and Carrie's phone numbers are disconnected and I have no way of reaching them and they are not reaching out to me. This goes on for 1 month. I finally track down Roberts new number and he starts completely avoiding me and giving me the run around. Now he has $3100 of my money, has completely dug up my yard and I have weeds 3 feet high in my yard! Great Landscaping job Robert!

It has now been 3 months, Robert will not address or fix the issue. He will not take my phone calls and the minimal conversations I have with him are through text messages. Very interesting business approach that Robert and C & R take. I gave Robert COUNTLESS opportunities to fix a devestating mistake he caused me and my family and he refuses to do so. On top of that he destroyed both of my neighbors yard with his sloppiness.

Robert Madison, Carrie Juarez, and C&R Landscaping Construction took complete advantage of me!!! I want any consumer to avoid doing any transactions with them. They did this to me on purpose and knew what and why they were doing this. They needed money...and they stole it from me. These people should not be in business!!!
