Husky 2600 PSI Pressure Washer

Husky 2600 PSI Pressure Washer - Model HU80722 Husky US I purchased a Husky 2600 PSI Pressure Washer, Model HU80722, from Home Depot in February of 2008. I used this pressure washer liberally about once a month. The pump stopped operating by June of 2009. I called Husky and was told to take it to an Authorized Service Center. I took it to A & B Saw & Lawnmower Shop in Lakeside, CA and the repair shop said to leave it and they would take a look at it. They confirmed the pump had gone bad and ordered a new pump for it. Upon following up with the repair shop I found out that a replacement pump was on backorder and therefore it could be a short while before the pump was shipped. Meanwhile I waited several weeks. Finally I called Husky and was told that the parts were available, but when I called the repair shop I was told the part hadn't come in. This went on for a couple more weeks. Finally after nearly two months my pressure washer was repaired and I was able to pick it up. In the mean time, I was without the use of my pressure washer, which cost me over $300 when I bought it, even though the damn thing was under warranty (2 years). The repair shop suggested purchasing/using Pump Saver to help protect and preserve the life of the pump. I took their advice, but you'd think the owners manual would say something about that - it doesn't. Not sure I would buy another Husky product. Not sure I would go back to A&B Lawnmower either, as they left my washer out in the sun for the entire time it was there and my pressure washer wand had a lot of sun wear/damage by the time I picked up the repaired washer. I also think the "Authorized Service Center" should have been more proactive. The customer should not be having to call Husky to find out the status of a replacement part. If you have to store your pump you should use pump saver or some kind of lubercant (waterbase) to store it so the seals wont stick break/tare/wearout and then loose their pumping action From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Sunday, 05-Jun-11 12:36:52 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On ThisI am willing to bet if you had bought your pressure Washer from A&B Saw and lawnmower shop, they would have gone the extra mile to take care of a loyal customer. This is what you get when to buy from Box stores. NO Service. This is the third time I attempted to post my issue with Husky, don't know if this one will get thru. Waited 32 minutes, until someone answered. I requested a supervisor and the female customer service rep hung up the phone. Date April 20, 2010 at 4:45 PM. This power washer is destined to fail during useage. Using white metal connectors on both hose ends is unpractical since white metal snapls easily. Especially since they connect to stronger brass fittings. Other power washers use all brass quick connects so the consumer won't have to purchase a new hose each year. Very disappointing From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Tuesday, 20-Apr-10 15:30:53 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On ThisI am looking to see where I can file a formal complaint with regarding my pressure washer. I bought mine from Home Depot in Tallahassee, Fl in Jan 2009. Was told it was being discontinued and only had the one. Had to take it back the next day as my box was missing parts and they gave me the display unit. Used it once and the pressure stopped working and I could only get it to do 'medium' pressure not high and the next day the handle started leaking to the point that it wouldn't even come out the nozzle. Went back to return it a week later, and low and behold, they had many in stock. Got another one in a box this time. The weather turned cold for a time and I didn't get to use it. when I finally could, and using it for one project, the pressure went bad again. By this time I couldn't return it to HD. Called the Husky co and emailed a pic of the part that busted. They sent the part and I had to fix it. (no instructions either). This happened 2 MORE TIMES!! (I would get the part, get one or part of one project done before the part went bad again) I finally said I do not want this product and they have basically said I am stuck with it as they 'do not do refunds of pressure washers'. It is now Sep 2009 and now I am having it wait on a shipping tag to send the unit back for repair. UPDATE NOV 9: got the unit back from repair, used for washing truck and jet ski, same part burst again.
