Sears Credit Card Switch

Sears is attempting to close accounts and replace their account with a Mastercard account. Sears is mailing the new Mastercard (ready to be used) with instructions to activate. If you do not want a new Mastercard, you must contact Sears and request your account stay with them. Your original account has been cancelled and Sears has to create a new account for you and cancel the Mastercard account. I believe this will negatively impact your credit rating?
