wrong film formats for hd

I have directtv. one of the greatest providers for hd channels. however there is a problem with the broadcast providers. all of the stations listed above are playing movies the have been incorrectly formated when changed to hd. the reason i know this is i have seen movies for one station in widescreen. then you will see the same movie on other hd channel and it will fit full screen. example HBO Star Wars 1977,1980, 1983 all in wide screen. Then on spikehd they played one movie a weekend, each movie was formated to FULL SCREEN. this tells me they do not know how to fix the movies that are messed up. people all over the U.S. are paying millions of dollars for incorrectly formated movies. you pay for a hd channel 16x9. thats not always what you get, who do you call at each one to fix the problem. who knows? nobody seems to know who is changing the movies to hd for each station?
