Yak Communications (Canada) Corp Yak Communications (Canada) Corp 48 Young Street, Suite 1200 Toronto, ON M5E 1G6 Toronto, On M5E 1G6 CA www.yak.ca July 30, 2008 Hi my name is Desiree Walker 206 Boland Ave Sudbury ON P3E1Y2 705-675-2040.
This is the second time I send you this message. I have not recieved a reply from you. Please reply A.S.A.P. This is my story...
In mid-July, I was speaking to yak and carefully considering switching from Bell Canada over to Yak communications. The first lady I spoke to, who was Anastagia, was quite nice. She informed me that I needed to contact Bell to cancel my internet service, then call her back at 1 800 490 7235 to give her the cancellation date as well as the cancellation number in order to move both my phone and internet service successfully. After cancelling with Bell, I tried calling Anastagia back to no avail and found myself on hold for 25 minutes. When I finally was speaking with someone, Micheal, he was confused and after I was hung up on accidentally after 45 minutes of this attempt to clarify, I found myself calling again, to start the whole procedure over, only to hold for another 20 minutes. When I finally got hold of another rep, he was just as confused, completely unhelpful and I lost the line again. After my third attempt and holding again for nearly 30 minutes, I realized that I had now spent nearly 3 hours of my own time with YAK and had so far gotten nowhere. I realized right then that I did not want to switch over to YAK at all because of the terrible customer service I had been recieving. So....once again...and this is the same day...I called YAK and held the line again...because this time I wanted to be sure that YAK would not use my information to switch me over. So finally after being on another long hold, I spoke to another YAK rep and advised him of my situation which took about 10 minutes and told him to cancel any order that may have been put out with my information and told him that I did not want to be a Yak customer. I told him again, cancel all my information and he said no problem. I asked for a confirmation number and he said there wasnt' any because there was no order to cancel. Several days later my phone stopped functioning. I could not recieve any calls all day and no voice mail. That evening, my phone was functioning again, and when I called Bell to find out what was going on....they advised me that Yak had switched me over and I was no longer their customer! I called Yak and was put on hold for a ridiculous amount of time, over 30 minutes again!, and finally explained to another rep what was going on! He appologized and said that I would not be charged any fees from Yak and told me that If I wanted, I could call Bell to reinstate my line with them, which is what I did. I still had no voicemail though in the meantime. He told me to press *98 and so on....I told him I had already tried that several times to no avail. He replied that it should work and he didn't know what could otherwise be the problem! After several more phone calls I realized that as had been my experience with Yak, I was getting nowhere. I placed a call with Bell and a kind rep did eventually call me back to tell me that YAK had failed to activate my voicemail. So she activated it then and there and it finally functioned. I must have spent about 5 hours going back and forth waisting my time with YAK. I now want confirmation that I won't be charged any ANY ANY fees from Yak. My account is back with Bell, however, I did lose some of the benefits I enjoyed before YAK switched me over against my instructions. I also lost my $55.00 line protection that I had recently ordered and paid for. WOW! What and incredibly disapointing experience! Please send confirmation that I will not be charged!
Unhappily, Desiree Walker August 25, 2008 This is now the 3rd mail I send with absolutely NO REPLY. I haven't received any CUSTOMER SERVICE to date. I have now recieved a bill which I was told but not assured I would not recieve. No surprise of course. invoice # 010807-307988 cutomer # 307988

Received no reply Re Sent message in Mid August 2008 Received no reply as usual but did received a bill. Paid the bill and gave up arguing. Yak is not worth any more aggravation and loss of my time. From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Tuesday, 03-Feb-09 22:08:35 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On ThisI recently (yesterday) was signed up with Yak, as they came to my door basically welcomed themselves in and told me that my whole apartment building had to convert over to Yak. I explained to them that I was on a contract with Bell and they assured me that if I signed the form they could cut off my services with bell free of charge. As I thought this is what I "had" to do I went ahead and signed the form, they made it sound like I would be getting a really good deal with them and seemed so nice. BTW I am 20 yrs old and living in my first apartment, I guess I should have known better. They told me I would have 10 days to cancel so I thought there was no harm in it. Now I have been trying to get a hold of them for two days and they are also putting me on hold for an hour at a time as soon as someone answers I tell them not to put me on hold again and that I want to speak to a manager and sure enough they put me on hold again!! I am now truly concerned to lose my service with Bell as I had no issues with them. This is complete and udder bullshit but I guess I should have known to say NO! If anyone is ever pressured to sign up for this service, they may seem really nice but that is there job. Tell them to "fuck off!" and slam the door in there face, don't even bother trying to be polite back as they are fucking losers who only make they're commision after bullshitting people into a lie. - Very Unhappy new Yak costumer. My story: back in the summer of 2008 I contacted Yak to hook up high speed internet and phone ( as a package together) They hooked up my phone service and told me I would have to wait about a week for the modem to arrive by mail and then it would be turned on.I had my other internet service disconnected. I received the modem in the mail days before the hook up was supposed to take place. On the day of hook up I waited all day for the internet to be turned on.At the end of the day nothing was turned on and I knew being evening Yak offices might close and I would not be able to get anything done about it so I called them to find out what the problem was. I was passed from person to person . They all seemed confused as if they did not know what they were doing. Finally I got a man on the phone and he very casually told me " oh, that order was canceled" I asked why, he said "high speed was not available in my area" I was so ticked off!I told him I am canceling my phone service with them that day and going with Bell.I told them off a lot more but won't use that language on here. Can you believe that they set a date to hook up internet and even sent me a modem and charged me a $10 fee for shipping and they didn't even have it in my area. I was so angry. It took me days to get my old internet service to hook me back up. Bell hooked me up within a few days for phone service. Month after month I attempted to call Yak to settle this matter and I could not get through. I have been receiving bill after bill. Finally I got through and spoke to a women who could not speak clear English and I had to keep repeating my self over and over. They stopped billing me but expected me to pay for a whole month for services I have had for days only.I wanted a package, phone and internet or I would have stayed with the companies I was already dealing with. Why bother going through all the trouble for phone when I already had it. I have been using dial up and I wanted high speed which is what Yak offered me so I decided to do all my business with one company and switch my phone also over to them. Months later, that fall, a man came to my home from the Yak company and tried to offer me high speed.I told him I tried before and they didn't have it in my area.He told me that they now have it in my area too. my son and I wanted it badly, after all we were stuck with dial up for years. We signed up, it took about a half hour and the man used my home phone to place this order for me and also for a personal call to his girlfriend or wife. This time I did not disconnect my dial up because I wasn't sure I could trust Yak yet.The next day a woman from Yak called my home to tell me that they canceled my order for high speed. That they did not have it in my area. Gosh I was so ticked off and confused. With one person from yak telling me something and the other saying something different I thought that this company must be a fraud or something. Anyway the woman said it was canceled so I left it be. Month after month I was billed for internet services I have never received. Every month the bill went up. They were charging me as if I was using their internet services. As if I had an account with them. I attempted to call them day after day to straighten this matter out but could never get through. First time their answering service was out of order, after that it was too packed jammed with calls and told me to call back later. I never got through, it was the same message over and over and I kept getting billed over and over. The stress and panic was too much for me. I have enough problems in my life to deal with. It is now Jan 2009 and I have been getting messages on my answering service from a collection agency. I got a letter in the other day threatening me to pay immediately or risk further actions against me to get their money. For goodness sake I never even received services from them and they are sending my name to a collection agency and slandering me, threatening me. I called the collection agency several time with no reply back from them. I left many messages demanding them to return my call. Nothing! If that is not bad enough I got two more bills from Yak. One for $152.00 and another for $165.00 for internet! I am not going to pay them a cent! I am going to fight this in court. I am getting a lawyer and going after them for attempting to extort money out of me with harassment, slandering me with a collection agency. I suffer from chronic depression and anxiety bad enough that I am on disability and I have been put through hell by Yak over and over. I am going to fight this and win. I have a witness, proof and cause to take them to court and I will. I would also suggest that everyone put a complaint in to the BBB and any other place you can think of. That is what I am doing. I am filing a complaint against Yak! After what they did to me it will be worth the aggravation and loss of time to take them to court and since I never received services from them and I have been harassed and affected by it all mentally I will do just that! I encourage other to take a stand and fight back so they can't keep getting away with this.Post stuff online, do whatever you can to get the word out and don't let this crooked company get away with this! Fight back! Back in Sep I said I would switch and they were to come Sep 22 no one showed up. Then a month ago I got a few calls from Yak asking me to switch and I told them no way. Dec 1 my phone stopped receiving incoming calls, I could call out and did not realize the horror until the pm when I was out and tried calling my home. Next day I was working with Rogers to resolve the mess when they told me my phone got switched. I now have no phone service am out $100 on my prepaid cell phone. I would like to know how they can switch a phone without authorization. It will take 3-5 days to get my phone back on Rogers.
