FURNITURE COMPLAINT


Good Morning,


 


I just purchased furniture from EXPO Furniture Gallery located on 7310

Home Leisure Plaza, Sacramento, CA 95823. Their phone# is 916-392-3233.

This was my worst experience ever. I just got married on August 28,

2008. My husband and I went bedroom set shopping and don't know how we

end up @ EXPO Furniture Gallery. Since we are newly married we were

really excited about the whole bed set deal. My husband could only spend

$100.00 a month payment on a bed set so I had a limit of $5000.00 for 5

yr finance.


 


The sales manager of the company helped us with our furniture. I told

him what kind of furniture I was looking for and he was like all the

time you spend going to a furniture stores looking I could show you all

in the catalog. We were shown catalogs of bed sets. I liked one and I

said I wanted that. He said that it was the most high quality furniture

and that he will give it to me for $5000.00 even though he did not know

my budget and I was so happy that I was getting what I wanted. We placed

the order with him. He told me to fill in a credit application and all

and I did it. It was weird, he told all my information but my husband

signed for it. I was ok with it thinking that maybe its ok for them too.


 


He said that it was a special order and that it will take 10 days to get

the bed set. My husband was like its ok we have been sleeping on the

floor for 3 weeks so another 10days would not matter. So everything was

confirmed. We were not educated about any return or exchange policy when

buying the furniture but since the sales manager was really nice we were

like we should be fine.


 


It had already been 10 days and we did not receive our furniture so I

called and they said that they will let me know by the end of the day

about the delivery, no phone calls that day. Then the next day I called

again and they said that they will call me back and I did get a call

back saying that our furniture can get delivered to our house Friday

9/26/08. I was so excited. I went home early from work all happy about

my furniture. When the guys started assembling the furniture and I

looked @ it, it looked really old. I told my husband about it and he

said that maybe it will be ok when they will all the way done. We waited

until the bed was assembled. OH! My god, when I saw the furniture I

started crying. It was in a horrible condition, it was all scratched, it

looked really old, it seemed like they gave us furniture which someone

else might have used it. I called the furniture company rite then

telling them that I do not like it and it looks old. Also the guys told

us that the mirror for the drawer was broken and that they might have

one @ the warehouse but was not sure about it. $5000.00 for that piece

of junk. I mean I cried thinking about it. My husband and I work so hard

to save every penny so that we have a nice life and get things that we

want that we did not have when we kids. I am so upset and I know he is

upset too but he does not show it cuz he knows that I will be more

worried.


 


Then Saturday 9/27/08 we went back to the store but before we called we

asked for the sales manager that helped us and they were like he is

helping a customer and when we got to the furniture store he was not

there. Our house to the furniture store is like 5-10mins away. Then

another guys helped us, he said that he will take us to their warehouse

and show that that's how the furniture looks like and that he will

return it if only the furniture looks the same as we got. I did not

understand that part. He says that if his warehouse furniture has the

same look then he will return the furniture. I just wanted to return the

gross furniture I had @ home so I did not really care. We went to his

warehouse which had boxes all over the place. He was trying to open a

box and find the kind of furniture we got. We waited for an hour, and

then he says he could not find the product and that he will give us a

call within an hour and let me know. We live 5-10mins away so we were

like its ok.


 


I waited for 1 hour no phone call, I told my husband that I was going to

call them and when I called they said that they still did not find the

furniture and that he will call me. They called me after 2hrs and left

me message to come to the store. It was late and we had to go somewhere

so I told him that I will come on Sunday.


 


We went back on Sunday, the sales manager who sold us the furniture and

the general manager both were there. They told me that they will

exchange the bed for me with the 25% restocking charges. $5000.00 for

the furniture plus 25% restocking charges that is $1250. So basically we

are looking @ $6250 now. They told me to look for another bed set but

the one I picked was still expensive. I am now so upset. My husband is a

kinda of person that does not like to argue. He was like whatever, get

what you want and I was like I don't want to purchase anything from

here. First of all they are way too expensive, really really bad quality

and they are not friendly @ all. We started @ a $81.00 monthly payment

and now we are @ $174.00 monthly payment.


 


I really want my money back. I do not want to purchase my furniture from

them. I hate their store. Is there someone that can get me out of this

whole thing? I am so upset and I hate going in my room still that

furniture is still there and they said they will be picking it up today.

I have sleepless nights. What if we cannot to the $174.00 payment every

month? We have been ripped off big time.


 


Please do suggest us someone that can get us out of this mess.
