hitachi 55hds69 plasma tvs

from what i am reading on many other sites hitachi has and knows about a problem with the 55 inch plasmas they manufactured about 2 years ago, the problems are vary costly to fix. they have stoped making these tvs but are not willing to help fix the problems they made. they already have the the money people have paid, in some cases $4,000 to $5,000 for tvs that work less than 2 years. I have talked to customer service at hitachi only to be told that once the one year warranty is up its too bad that it cost $2,000 a year to watch tv. I think companys should stand behind there products when they know they designed something wrong.
