ALAMO RENTAL CAR ALAMO RENTAL CAR US This is the worst car rental business I have ever dealt with and I would never recommend them to anyone. We booked a car in Houston, TX at the Hobby airport. First, we waited over 20 minutes for their shuttle to pick us up. Then when we got to the business, we waited in line another 40 minutes. Then to rent the car, we were at the front desk for another 20 minutes. The clerk was nothing but a salesperson trying to push everything but what I had preordered. She was trying to push us to get a bigger vehicle at a higher cost. I told her, NO, I want the car that I requested for the price I was quoted. She insisted over 4 times and I refused over 4 times. Then she tried to push all the other extras which I refused. Then the bill she quoted me was more than the bill I was quoted over the phone. I said I am only going to pay the amount that I was quoted by phone. So, it took her over 15 minutes to get the price back down to what I was supposed to have in the first place. Then they want to charge $10 per day extra for my spouse to drive. I have rented from many other car rentals and the spouse was always free if over 25, which my spouse is. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a rental and I would warn anyone thinking of using ALAMO to run as fast as they can to another rental. Budget and Thrifty have always been great. Their online service was down the night I got stuck with ALAMO. That is why I didn't get them in the first place.
