Harassment and theft by a major moving company
|
Moving interstate J.D.Carton & Son 125 E. Halsey Road Parsippany, NJ 07054 US http://www.jdcarton.com Our harassment began the day J.D.Carton & Son picked up our items on March 28, 2008. We had to store our items for 2 months before delivery on May 30, 2008. This moving company opened and stole items from our boxes that we had packed and taped. The items they had contracted to pack for us and, for which we had paid was just put into their storage unpacked for 2 months. On delivery the driver who was equally rude let us know he deserved to be paid by us because he had to pack all our items and tape the open boxes before loading it on his truck! He even wished us 'good luck' pursuing to get anything back from this company through complaints. J.D.Carton & Son claim to be an agent for 'ALLIED VAN LINES' a major carrier. When we called Allied to resolve this issue our complaints fell on deaf ears. Since our delivery of supposedly all items from thier storage to our apartment, and hoping never to have to deal with these companies again, we have continued to be harassed by bills for storage for June, July, August, September and October 2008. Our items were delivered on May 30, 2008. Why are we receiving these bills? We have called them and written to the President of the company to no avail again. We called and wrote to the President of Allied Van Lines as well and they just washed their hands off saying they were sorry about our situation and they did not control the accounting division of J.D.Carton & Son. Hence, they could not assist us in any way to resolve this issue. They told us we have to just keep calling this agent (and put up with the rudeness and the harassment) until they decide to resolve this matter!
