customer service no service

i put in for aq transfer for my service to another address after 2 years it them 60 days and acouple of weeks from april 30th 2008 to switch it over and didnt tell they got the o.k from verizon to do and when i notice i had it the verizon man was in my backyard turning the service off after having it on 24hrs and then they want to put 288.00 that i owe on my credit report i call them they said it out there hands deal with the collection agency
