Kramer Micro Repair Problems

I'm posting this bulletin to search out members who had problems with a company called Kramer Micro Repair run by an Ethan Kramer. I'm considering taking legal action against him and his company.

I sent Mr Kramer my SID back in April 08 of this year. About a month later it lost some pixels and was actually worse than it was when I originally sent him the unit. I contacted him and sent him a picture of the unit and was told that it was normal and given the run around. He could try to re repair it but there was no assurance that it would resolve the problem. I didn't have time to deal with his BS at the time as I had to go away on business till late August. When I came back home in August and got in my 9-5 the display did not even read at all. So I pulled the SID and sent it off with a letter to Mr Kramer to re repair the unit. He told me he tested the unit and it was fully readable and an attempted re repair could make the unit completely inoperable. I told him if the unit was fully readable I wouldn't have sent him the unit and that I expected him to repair the unit to be fully readable. He contacted me later stating that he would be unable to repair the unit and that it's completely unrepairable. But he'll gladly sell me a replacement for 225 dollars. I found that very hard to believe. So, I contacted BBA Reman and a couple other SID repair firms as well as my local Saab dealer. BBA Reman told me they've successfully repaired and re repaired thousands of SIDs with no problems, only an incompetent tecnician could make a SID completely inoperable. My local Saab dealer showed my a compleetely disassembled SID and the technician there told me it would be pretty hard to make the SID beyond repair unless the circuit board was broken. So, I've told Mr Kramer either he fixes my SID or he can sell me a replacement for $150 (that's what BBA Reman sells them for with a core) or I will be taking action against him. Mr Kramer instead keeps trying to sell me a SID for 225.

I had nearly the exact same experience with this guy. He can not do the repair as promised and then will not refund your money. Stay away from this guy.

The item was replaced for the customer at the price requested and we were informed he was happy with it. i guess you just can't please some people.
