Jenn Air Wall oven (Class Action suit anyone?)

The control panel was replaced 10 months after purchase. After 20 months the control panel failed again. No record of the service was in the data banks of Jenn Air. Before they will talk to me they want ME to pay for a service call. Labor is not covered by Jenn Air/Maytag.


I faxed the paperwork from the service call to Maytag/Jennair and they still refuse to acknowledge there was a service call. So far I have made 20 calls to Maytag/Jenn air. No one cars. No one wants to help.


I received a call from their "Consumer Affairs" group who wanted to make sure that the issue was resolved. They would not help or pay for anything. they just wanted ME to pay to resolve the issue.


In the meantime I have learned that Jenn air oven control units (key pads) fail regularly. There is a class action suit in progress but not for my model. If someone would be interested in filing another law suit against Jenn Air I will be happy to join in. I'd even help track down and locate consumers who have problems!


A good lawyer could make some nice money on these guys. They know there is a problem with the control panels and they are doing everything possible to hide it.


We are currently in the market for a new kitchen appliances. Many thousands of dollars worth of appliances. NONE of it will go to Maytag, Jenn Air or any group associated with them. In my spare time I will continue to look for others who can join in a class action suit and post anywhere on-line that I can find for consumer opinions.


I find it hard to believe in this day and age a corporation would screw consumers and then shut them out. How all powerful and untouchable do they think they are? So far they have created an impenetrable wall to keep customers at bay. This will keep profits high until enough consumers spread the word and Maytag/JennAir goes the way of GM.


I look forward to a time when customer service means taking care of customers but I am afraid I will never live to see the day.

I too have had issues with this same model. The first time they repaired it for free - the second time I had to pay for the service call. Truth is, even after the repairs, the oven still does not come back to temperature after the door is open. This only bothers us much during the holidays - but we have ruined lots of meals trying to use this. I would gladly join a class action against these guys. We also have a faulty kitchen hood from Jennaire. I would love to recover the cost of these devices as they have never worked worth beans.
