Dencor Energy Systems Do Not Work

Dencor Energy Management Systems Dencor Energy Control Systems 1450 West Evans, Suite D Denver, Co 80223 US www.dencorinc.com My husband and I purchased a Dencor Energy Management System for our new home in November 2005. We were told by the installer that by using this system, we should see monthly energy savings of between 30-40%. We have yet to see one penny of savings with this system since it was installed. Some of our monthly bills have even been more than they were without the system. We contacted Dencor directly and was told that the savings for the system were more like 20-25%, which again was untrue since we didn't have any saving on the system. In addition, we were given a cashback rebate which would have allowed us to get the full amount back of purchase if we followed the instructions. The company is now out of business, so we were lied to about the system and the rebate. Do not use this company for any of their products and since I work for a national construction company, I will be instructing all of our project managers, superintendents and estimators to eliminate them from our subcontractor base and I will begin calling every single general contractor in the country, starting with Colorado to alert them of this company's fraudulent activities. Matt Essig at 303-359-8137 is who I'm dealing with. My only thought is that you are possibly not on the demand-rate with your utility. We have an all-electric house. Prior to the purchase of the Dencor 200D system, we were averaging $250 - $270 per month on utility costs. Since purchasing the Dencor SERIES 200D, we have averaged anywhere from $85 per month to $155 per month. Since purchasing the Dencor SERIES 200D Residential Demand Computer System, we have learned much about energy consumption. We have purchased an electro-mechanical timer for our electric water heater and have increased from a 30 to a 50 gallon Hot Water tank. By using the electro-mechanical timer for the hot water heater, we set it to be on only during 4am to 6am, 4pm to 6 pm, and 10pm to midnight. We also purchased a water heater insulation blanket that totally encapsulates the hot water heater and aids in keeping the water hot for a longer period of time after the heating elements have been turned off. When turning on, it only takes 40 minutes to fully heat those 50-gallons of water. We also started using the smaller burners on the stove top because we watched as we turned them on and found out that each of the smaller burners use 2.5 KW less than the large burners; and found also found out that they heat water and food just as quick as do the larger burners. We upgraded our Heat Pump system from a 1-1/2 ton, 8 SEER system to a 2-1/2 ton, 13 SEER system and now can set our digital, programmable thermostat for 68 degrees on a 95-degree day, and it is maintained very well (and our unit does not run all day trying to cool down our 1,250 square-foot town house). Lastly, we replaced EVERY incondescent light bulb in the house with a spiral, florescent light bulb. In the winter months (heating season) our average electric bill is $85.00 per month. In the HOT summer months (cooling season) our average electric bill is $155.00 per month (remember, our thermostat is set at a very cool and comfortable 68 degrees). We could not be any more happy with the Dencor SERIES 200D Energy Management System. The only problem we are experiencing is that the time has lapsed over the years and the digital clock runs approximately 31 minutes behind the local time. The circuit card probably needs to be replaced. The original warranty on the Dencor SERIES 200D was 2 years. It ran error-free for approximately 11 years - with absolutely NO problem what-so-ever. We are EXTREMELY pleased with the product. We were sad to learn that your Dencor Energy Management System did not work for you. I'm certain that with any man-made product, there is almost certain to be a percentage of error during manufacture. We have only purchased 2 new vehicles during our lifetime. Both vehicles were made by 2 totally different American automobile manufacturers. We experienced nothing but probelms from both vehicles. We are EXTREMELY disappointed with each of the vehicles. We have purchased used vehicles and have used them for more than 12 years each - and, are EXTREMELY pleased with them. With any man-made product, I'm almost certain that there will be times when a product is not PERFECTLY manufactured and will require either repair or replacement at the very beginning. Fortunately, we have nothing but GREAT things to say about Dencor and their SERIES 200D Residential Energy Management System.
