Pay Pal wants to tie into your checking account
|
US I just sent the following to the FTC. They have an online complaint procedure. Next I will email to my state's Attorney General. Pay Pal issues, Pay Pal in now requiring its users to tie the user's checking account into a user's already listed credit card or users must apply for the Pay Pal credit card. This was not the case when I joined years ago. Now that more vendors are using Pay Pal as their only means of payment I have a problem with Pay Pal's requirements. I have not been using them in my previous purchases in the past years but today I had that issue trying to do an online purchase with a vendor. It is as if they are in violation of some sort of Anti-Trust law by either forcing people to get Pay Pal's credit card or making the Pay Pal member tie the member's personal banking account / credit card of the member's choice together. From what I was told if the personal credit card, not Pay Pal's, does not make the payment then they get it out of your checking account. As I understood it, with a Pay Pal credit card it is also to be tied to the member's checking account. I think they should be investigated regarding this type of business method.
