no return policy given until after purchase

I recently purchased a Christmas ornament from Hallmark that required an input from a string of Christmas lights. There was no information that they would not work with LED Christmas lights except in the instructions in the box, and the only information that the ornament was not returnable was on the receipt given after the transaction, so I now have a 45.00 ornament that I cannot use on my tree.
