I booked a flight months ago with DELTA for 8 passengers to ensure I had a DIRECT flight and not a connecting due to the fact I will be flying with someone that is terrified of planes so getting off and getting right back on was not an option. Well seems my preplanning was thwarted by Delta not only sending me more than 10 emails on time changes but they have now changed my direct flight to a connecting flight resulting in one of the passengers on the trip to cancel going all together because as I said, a connecting flight was not an option. Now that it is so late in the game and very close to our departure date, it is difficult for me to find another direct flight for 15 guests. I had 8 on this reservation and another 7 on coinciding reservations. Then to top it off, I had the misfortune of dealing with Eva Anderson in Delta’s customer service department in Salt Lake City who is completely useless. All I asked for to be satisfied was to be refunded the ticketing fee of $20 since I already paid this once and she said that’s too bad I feel the way I do and she suggests I cancel all 15 flights if I don't agree with Delta’s fees.

I fly 20-30 times annually with my company and I have NEVER dealt with such issues, negligence, and utter lack of decent customer service as I have with Delta. It’s unreal and I suggest that if Delta plans on remaining in business they seriously do something about their customer service promptly and when you change flights COMPLETELY (times, nonstop vs. layover, etc) you offer something to the passenger as a consolation. And in speaking to coworkers and friends they too have had an unpleasant experience so I am not the only one that feels this way. At this point I am willing to pay another $200-300 just to avoid flying Delta ever again. It seems customer service has an "oh well" attitude that upsets me more than anything else and it has been with many different reps I've spoken to. I'm so disgusted and in awe that Delta has gotten away with this as long as they have. I am also going to be contacting various websites, agencies, and related partners to vent my frustrations and complaints regarding Delta. Hopefully the government or someone will be able to force Delta to make a change in the way they mistreat their customers because it is obvious they will not take a proactive approach. Bait and switch seems to be Delta’s motto or crash and burn. Whatever the case may be I would be very happy to see Delta be one of the companies that go out of business in this economy. Truly pathetic.
