The person I left to take care of them did not get to the house in time to take them out. Needless to say when we returned, our carpet smelled bad. I contacted a pet odor specialist (it said so on their website) and they came out the following day. When the two men got there, we had some small talk. I told the men that my carpet was only two months old but I can get carpet really cheap and if they think they cannot get the smell out, it would be no problem to replace it. One of the men told me that he has been doing this for many years and he could get the smell out. I said ok. They did the carpet and said it would take about 4 hours to dry. We went out for the day and left our dogs outside. We got home late that night and let the dogs into our room thru the doors in our room because the carpet was still a little damp. The next morning we woke up and the only thing we smelled was the perfume the carpet guys had put down (very strong perfume). We went to work and when we came home there was the smell again. (My dogs had not been on my carpet since it was done). I called the carpet company and told them that the smell was back. The gentleman came back out and did the carpet again. He told my husband that if the smell came back, that it was in the padding and not the carpet and we were out of luck because they could not do anything about it. My husband told them oh well we can get new padding cheap and have it installed free. A few days later the smell was back (my dogs had still not been in my livingroom) and I called the company back. The man was very rude and said he cannot get rid of the smell, that it was in the padding. I told him that he guarenteed me he could get the smell out and he said âI have used so many chemicals on there and it is still not working so it is in the padding and I told your husband thatâ. I told him regardless of what he told my husband, I hired him to do a job that he said he could do and couldânt, so either he finds a way to do what I paid him to do or give me a refund. He then said it was in the cement under the padding and said I needed new padding and to paint Kilz over the cement before putting in the new padding. I told him I already paid you to get rid of the smell, why are you telling me now that it is something different. I told him that he should have told me there was a chance he could not do it and I would have just replaced the carpet in the first place and saved my money. He hung up on me. I then wrote the company an e-mail saying that I did not appreciate how I was being treated and I was going to contact the BBB and every other complaint place I could find. I then got a phone call from the tech saying that he didânt appreciate threats. I told him it was not a threat and that if he did not do what I paid him to do then I would go forward. Then I got an e-mail from the owner and it has not helped. We have been back and forth and she has basically said her company can not do what I paid them to do and I get no refund and I am out of luck. She said I could call whoever I wanted and it wouldnt make a difference.
