Bad hiring practice
|
US Recently my 17 yr old daughter personally submitted a job app to Old Navy at the Valley Fair Mall. They gave her an interview date which she attended. They called her the next day and informed her that she was accepted and then gave her an orientation date. She was very excited, she called all the family members and her friends and everyone congradualted her for obtaining her first job. We gave her a little family party and she celebrated with her friends also. She's a good girl, a good student and we were not surprised that she was accepted. But she had put in alot of effort to her job search so we were all excited for her. First jobs are exciting. The next morning she recieved another phone call from the Old Navy people and the person informed her that they were withdrawing the job offer based on the results of her app screening. No specifics. She was devastated. Rejections come with the territory on a job hunt and it's a time we learn about rejection. But this was unusually cruel to a young person. I do not approve of this hiring and then firing before they even begin method. She has no police record, no surprises at all actually so this was simply uncalled for. Black mark on you Old Navy. This is bad practice. From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Saturday, 31-May-08 21:42:32 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
