Remote control/unit for Model:UC7067RC

Thank God, we were home when this unit decided to melt. My husband is an electrician so he was quick to spot the problem. He took the unit out of the ceiling fan in our living room and it was melted.

This is POOR quality manufacturing. I noticed that the language on the unit is both in Spanish and English which leads me to believe that it was manufactured in Mexico or Spanish speaking country. The company probably is a US owner and for cheap labor has a foreign country put it together. Which the owner doesn’t even take the time to train employees properly.

What the hell happened to quality work and consumer protection! After reading the complaints on this site, I am appalled that we Americans have to work so hard for our money and then find out that we wasted it on CRAP.

Something needs to happen. If this unit starts one fire and kills someone….you better bet there will be litigation.

I am contacting Home Depot, where i purchased the fan and also the BBB.

my wall socket started smoking after the fan unite started sparking. Turned it off and the sparks quit.
