Toys R Us and zero gift card balance

Gift Card Toys R Us , Fl 32904 US I received a $10 gift card from purchasing diapers. I then purchased a stroller on line. The purchase was canceled via Toys R Us. I was expecting the money to be returned to the gift card. It was not. I called five times and finally received a gift card in the mail to replace the one that was used. For some reason the balance could not transfer to the old gift card. Today I tried using the gift card that I received in the mail from "corporate" and the balance was zero! The Assistant Manager called from the store and I was put on the phone with a customer service person. I was then transferred to another representative. This person placed me on hold. After 25 minutes from start to finish of being on the phone I hung up. In the end, Toys R US stole the gift card that I received from them.
