Email Death Threat Scam
|
gmail US mail-support@google.com I've received a death threat spam originating from a gmail address. Obviously I contacted the police - who were very critical of Google's attitude to similar issues in the past. I then complained directly to Google on-line, receiving an auto-reply telling me that Google may or may not reply in person. So then I searched for a Google phone number in the UK. It took a while, but I did find one. When I phoned I reached a telephonist who was distinctly unhelpful refusing to discuss the death threat with me, refusing to pass me on to a supervisor or anyone senior, even refusing to give me her name. Google appear to have abdicated any responsibility acting on such email abuse and more importantly for personal contact with consumers. This contradicts their marketing image of a caring internet provider (check out their supposed 10 principals). NOT GOOD ENOUGH GOOGLE!
