Designer Doors Direct Years of Complaining

Mahoghany and Fiberglass Door "Tree of Life" Designer Doors Direct Inc. 52 NORTH MAIN STREET,BLDG.A.SUITE 6 Marlboro, NJ 07746 US http://designerdoorsusa.com/contactus.htm The original door I purchased was a wood door priced at $7,000. The door almost immediately began to fall apart and only after several complaints over the phone, visits to the business address and several Better Business Bureau complaints later did I actually see any attempt from the company to fix the problem. Almost two years later the company replaced the door with a fiberglass model which is worth half the wood model. No money was reimbursed. During the installation, the company broke the glass in the new door, promised to replace it but a year later and several new complaints to BBB and I still haven't heard from them yet. There was also extensive damage to the framing of the entry way. The fiberglass door also immediately began to fall apart, no surprise there. Every single time it rains the door leaks, cracks at every little breeze. The trim on the door is not only cracking but coming off. The paint is pealing and falling off. Absolutely the worst purchase of my entire life. And the company has left me with a horrible broken door, a bill to replace the lock for $500 and damages which I myself paid for to repair. I finally received a check to repay for the lock replacement but as always they never really pay any attention to their customers and only wrote the check out for $400. Not only did I overpay for the door and got stuck with a much worse one, I also had huge costs to repair damages caused by the company themselves. DO NOT BUY FROM DESIGNER DOORS DIRECT INC. IN MARLBORO, NJ. THE WORST PRODUCTS AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have originally purchased a wood door which started to fall apart and peel right away. However the fiberglass door was not better in any respect, still falling apart and peeling. I had filed several complaints with the BBB but nothing with Consumer Affairs in Freehold. I will be filling this week and hopefully something comes out of this. I had originally purchased the door in February of 2006 and have been stuck with a terrible product ever since. The company does care whatsoever about their customers after they receive the payment. If you would like to see what I am talking about when I say the door is falling apart, I can certainly send pictures. My advice is to find another place to purchase your door. It would be regretful to see you end up in the same situation I am in now, having spent thousands of dollars on a door that won't last more than two seasons. There are plenty of other dealers in the area who, I am sure, would do a much better job and provide you with a much better product. After all I doubt it can get any worse than these guys. Best of luck and if you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate.
