Netflix Shipping DVD Movies From Out Of State Locations

I was a very satisfied Netflix customer for 4 years receiving timely DVD movies from Netflix's New York City shipping office until January 2008.

Here's my complaint:

Nextflix sent an e-mail that a returned movie from me was received on Tuesday, January 23, 2008.

Then, an e-mail that my next selection will be "mailed on the next business day from Memphis, TN."

Then, I received a third e-mail that the movie was being shipped on January 24, 2008.

Then, a fourth e-mail to expect the movie to arrive on Monday, January 28, 2008.

Who wants to wait 6, 7, 8-days for a movie to arrive by mail?

Therefore, I contacted Netflix and suggested as follows:

When a customer makes a request that you do not send DVD's from out of state locations, honor their request. Send the next DVD on their list from their local distribution center.

Also, when Netflix sends an e-mail to a customer that the next DVD is being mailed from out of state, an option should be given to the customer. Ask the customer if they want the video from out of state or the next DVD on their list from their local distribution center.

I've never received movies from out of state in the past 4-years. However, since early January, 2008 every third movie has been shipped from out of state. I've had DVD's sent from Texas, Georgia, Ohio, Tennessee, Pennsylvania and a recent movie shipped from Lakeland, FL that took 6 days in delivery. I don't want to wait 5-6 nor 7 days for an out of state DVD's to be delivered. That's the average amount of time it takes for delivery of Netflix movies from out of state shipping locations to Manhattan.

I didn't receive a reply from Netflix. Then, a DVD video was shipped to me from Gaithersburg, Maryland. It took 5-days in delivery. So, I cancelled my subscription in February 2008.
