SPA Depot misleading website and unreliable spa2go product.

Spa2Go manufactured by Comfortline Products. SPa Depot 1019 85th Ave SE Olympia, WA 98501 US www.spadepot.com The Spa Depot SPA2Go product is unreliable. I see other consumer complaints that the motor breaks down. It did. In my case after 2 weeks of operation. One consumer here had it fail twice in less than a year! When you buy from them the website and the terms of sale you agree to are full of how shipping is free. The implication is that you only pay shipping for a return. It turns out that if you have to return a product under the warranty, the MANUFACTURER Comfortline products charges a $140 shipping/handling charge in order to remedy a defect in their product! This is buried in the website and only became clear to me once I needed warranty service. I tried to resolve this with the BBB and the SPA Depot and was disappointed that the BBB chooses to continue to allow their logo to be displayed on such a misleading site. When you purchase a Spa2Go and you actually bother to be a responsible person and read the warranty you will see that the warranty is by the Manufacturer, not the distributer. I've had a Spa2Go for many years now. When I had my first problem, my spa was 6 months old. I called The Spa Depot and they were very kind and helpful. They gave me Comfortline's number and told me to contact them if I had any problems. By this time I had been shopping at SpaDepot.com for about 2 years. I called Comfortline and they were very helpful and sent me a new pump free of charge. I then contacted them once in awhile for other questions or small concerns I had. They were really helpful at first but as time went by it seemed like everytime I called Comfortline they were less and less friendly and really avoided anything that would cost them money. I attributed this to the weakening economy and let it slide. Then when my spa was a year old the pump went out again. I called them and they wanted me to pay for the repair, including shipping to and from, even though the problem with my pump was not due to a user error. This really frustrated me so I called The Spa Depot to complain. They were very apologetic and even called Comfortline on my behalf. After two days of them trying to work this out for me the rep at The Spa Depot had informed me that Comfortline was unwilling to budge. The Spa Depot customer service lady was so nice and I could tell she genuinly felt bad. She offered me a new pump at The Spa Depot's cost. She also asked me to draft a letter explaining my problems with Comfortline so that she could forward it to her boss. She said they had recently been getting a lot of complaints about Comfortline and were concerned about their dwindling customer service. I wrote the letter, I got my new pump and it works great. I still shop with The Spa Depot because I have never dealt with a rude or uncaring person there. I always get my orders on time and in great condition. It appears to me that The Spa Depot has stopped offering the Spa2Go or any other Comfortline products so obviously they care about the quality of the products they are selling. Be a responsably consumer and read the warranty and reviews before you purchase. A word to the wise: Educate yourself before you make a purchase. It's the only way to win. My mistake cost me a couple hundred dollars but it could have been much more without the caring Spa Depot rep. I realize that I made the mistake by not looking at reviews of the Spa2Go before I purchased it. I don't blame Spa Depot for this, as I see they have stopped selling this spa due to the problems.
