dried up liquor chocolates

I received 4 boxes of UPC#013413500326 for Christmas. I opened one package - there was no liquor in the candy. So I contacted the company via email and they were most unhelpful. I gave them all the information I knew and they responded with the manufacture date. To which I responded that a) when you purchase something at the store how are you supposed to know how long the products sit on the shelf? b)If there is no best buy or use by date or even the manufacture date on the package how is the consumer supposed to know? They made no offer to replace them and said that they will pass my comments along.
