Anderson Renewal Renewal by Anerson of NJ North Jersey, Ne 07004 US I was very suprised to find out after almost buying Renewal by Anderson windows that they have nothing to do with The Real Anderson Windows company and in fact they cost more then the real Anderson windows do. It is not their replacement division. In fact renewal is a separate Andersen company. The parts are sold by Andersen to a second party who actually assembles them. One of the many reasons they are so expensive. Andersen's replacement products include the 400 series Woodright. Renewal is a similar, more expensive and less well made version of the Woodright. They also offer full frame replacements in the 400 series, the A Series and coming soon a 100 series window. Anyone saying anything different either doesn't know what they are talking about or they are literally trying to sell you something (a renewal salesman perhaps)! Don't just trust me on this, do your own homework. It can be bought at any retail outlet that sells Andersen Windows. Renewal By Andersen is a seperate company that is owned by Andersen. The Woodwright is wood frame with Fibrex, vinyl, claded to the exterior for weather protection. The RBA is an all Fibrex, vinyl, window. The RBA is marketed thru privately owned franchises that have protected territories. The Woodwright has considerable competition from many different Andersen retail outlets. The Woodwright is stronger and more attractive than the RBA vinyl window. The Woodwright, due to the way it is marketed costs apprx. one half the price of the RBA. Stronger, more attractive and half the price - no debate here. Buy The woodwright. He insulted my wife and I within the first 5 mins. He repeatedly told us what we think and how we live. He was arrogant and attempted to intimidate. Craig was out the door shortly after. Keep in mind this was after they had come to me one week earlier by knocking on my door. Not only do they use trained installers they also back up the warranty directly through Andersen Corporate. If the local office were to close Andersen will still be responsible for all aspect of the warranty. There service is the best you will find in the industry. Anyone who says Renewal by Andersen does not have anything to do with Andersen has not done his/her research. What else can you tell me about the Marvin windows line? I can also check them out, but wondering what made you recommend them? One is focused on new construction and the other on home improvement. Renewal by Andersen is the dedicated home improvement division and features a certified installation which the new construction Andersen windows do not. There are differences in the materials between the two divisions and the consumer must look at the different models to decide which option is best for their home but both windows are REAL Andersen windows. We have hated them since day 1 !! We are looking at the Renewal by Anderson, but also open to looking at others since we have so many windows to replace. We live in South Dakota so they have to be very energy efficient. Anyone know anything about "Heartland" windows out of Iowa? Any help or information would be greatly appreciated! You are right. Andersen doesn't want to hear it. I had a a casement window installed about 2 weeks ago over my sink. One of the locks on the screen doesn't close all the way. The screw on the crank won't go in all the way, so now when I open and close the window, the entire handle moves forward. The window has all streaks in it when the sun shines on it, as though it hasn't been washed in years. The window has one lock that works the mechanism to lock the whole window. It looks like all these little notches that slide along the window to pull it closed. I know this, because they are exposed when the window is open. Not only do they look awful, but they are exposed to the rain when the window is open. When I asked Andersen if there should be something covering it, they said THEIR windows do. That's when I found out it is not their window. It has their name on it, but I'm sure there is something in all the words around it that I can't see that will say it's not theirs. Last night, as I shut the window, I noticed what looks like a piece of plastic broken off the corner of the window. This is the end of June, and I have only had this window about 2 weeks. Everyday I am finding more things wrong with it. I paid $1572.00 for this window and it's not even what I wanted. I told him over and over I wanted a wood window inside and vinyl outside. I got all vinyl. It's what he put on the paper, and I signed it without looking.(stupid mistake)After telling this guy over and over non stop how I didn't want a vinyl window inside my house, it's what I got. It was the last thing I said to him as he was leaving. "It's going to be like my dining room window, right. Vinyl outside, wood inside. He said yes. I have an Andersen double window with the cranks in my dining room. You don't even know it's vinyl outside, because it's wood inside, just like they had in the showroom. I am dreading the winter. I know this is just the beginning of a long nightmare. DON'T BUY ANDERSEN RENEWAL WINDOWS. ANDERSEN DOESN'T WANT TO HEAR IT, AND I WISH I HAD NEVER HEARD OF ANDERSEN.
