Balance a motorcycle tire after mounting on wheel. Cycle Specialties of Taylors, South Carolina 3401 Wade Hampton Blvd. Taylors, So 29687 US Took my 2005 motorcycle in to have the front tire replaced with a new tire and have it balanced. Received a price of $45. for mounting and balance. Before I gave them the bike I removed all balance weights from the front wheel. When I got the bike back after service I noticed there were no balance weights on the wheel. I brought it to the mechanic's attention and I was told that the wheel was NOT put on the balance machine. The mechanic said that when the tire is mounted on the rim the YELLOW dot that the tire manufacture puts on the tire is placed next to the valve stem making the wheel balanced. I ask the mechanic again if the tire and wheel were placed on the wheel balancing machine. His answer was "NO it was not". I know that the yellow dot on the tire being aligned with the valve stem DOES NOT make for a balanced wheel. (it's the tire manufacture's way of marking the lightest part of the tire when it was made) The mechanic said he has been doing this for 28 years. So there are many customers paying for something they are not getting. Mechanic's name on work order is REGGIE.
