Do Not Buy an Akai TV

We bought an Akai TV, Model CFTD2011, about a year ago and lost the remote. Universal remotes don't work with this TV, and the manufacturer has recently discontinued the remotes, which have been on backorder from 1-800-REMOTES since February, 2007. The TV doesn't even pick up ABC without the remote. Don't buy Akai TVs, because you can't replace the remote. A replacement, if we could get one, would run about $90 -- another ripoff.
