Beware Consumers

On March 7, 2008 I ordered a UV-C Sweeper from Allergy Asthma Technologies.? This was only the second time I ever placed an order with them.? I ordered a UV-C light wand and had no problems with that order or the item.

I received the sweeper and could not believe how cheaply made it was for the money it cost me.? The handle was so flimsy that when I tried to vacuum my carpet, the handle was bending.

I packed up the sweeper, which had NO return instructions, and called Allergy Asthma Technologies and told the representative how totally disappointed I was in the purchase and that I wanted to know how to return it for a full refund.? She told me that she would send me a return label and all I had to do was take it to UPS and ship it back.? I thought that was simple.? That was on March 21st.

Today, I called Allergy Asthma Technologies to find out what happened to my return label.? It didn't take this long to get the sweeper.? I spoke to a gentleman this time and he told me that the label had been sent but he didn't know if it was sent UPS or USPS.? I informed this gentleman that if it was sent UPS, it might take weeks to get.? He apologized and said there was no way of telling how the label was mailed to me.? He told me that if I didn't get the label today, that I would get it by Monday.? I told him if I didn't get it today, I wasn't waiting until Monday.

I sent an email to the customer service department asking for the address I should send the sweeper to because I did not receive the label.? I received this reply:

????

We're sorry. Due to a filing error, the label was never

generated. We are sending your label out today by US mail. The reference number

is (leaving the reference # out). The return address (8224 Lehigh Ave. Morton Grove, IL?

60053) is on the label so you won't have to worry about addressing it. Once you

get the label, you can give it to any UPS driver or any place that ships UPS.

Again, sorry for the error.

I got a phone call from Lorie before I got the email and she said "she" had written me an email.? I found it interesting that I sent an email to customer service but the VP of Operations (Lorie) sent the reply.? Anyway, Lorie said that the gentleman I spoke with never looked up the information and was just simply B-S-ing me.? She used the exact word.?? According to her the man was too lazy to look up any information.? I can't say I really believe her either.? I think she may have been B-S-ing me also.

One minute she said the label was generated and she was about to mail it, then she said she was going to generate the label and send it by priority mail today.? So she isn't exactly telling the truth either.? She said I should have the label by Tuesday.

I'm not sure I am going to wait until Tuesday.? I am considering mailing the package myself and taking the loss on the postage just to be rid of the sweeper and Allergy Asthma Technologies.?

I thought I would post this experience so that others would be aware of a possible problems with this company.? There are NO return instructions on the billing receipt, so anyone ordering from them needs to make a print out of their return policy and time limit from their web site.? That way if problems arise, you have proof of what their policy is in case it is needed later on.
