kenmore elite HE5 front loading washer

my expensive front load washer suddenly quit working on 3/17/08 after only 7 months of use. the sears service technician informed me that i needed a brand new control unit. of course i am still covered under the mfg warranty but i really didn't think that after only 7 months that such a major part would break down and need to be replaced. very, very disappointed with this turn of events. consumer beware, that this too can happen to you if you purchase this machine.
