I HAVE A RED LINE THAT IS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF MY $1,000 37" LCD TV. IT IS VERY ANNOYING AND I CALLED CIRCUIT CITY WHO I BOUGHT IT FROM. THE ONE YEAR WARRANTY HAD TO BE COVERED BY POLAROID SO, I CALLED THEM. I WAS SENT A PART (ACTUALLY THE MAIN CONTROL) AND HAD A NUMBER TO CALL. I CALLED THEM AND IT TURNED OUT TO BE SEARS SERVICE. WELL, THE SCHEDULED A SERVICE CALL AT A WIDE RANGING TIME AT THEIR CONVENIENCE. I GOT A CALL FROM THEM THAT THEIR SERVICE REPS WIFE HAD A BABY AND THAT THEY HAD NO ONE ELSE TO SEND. THIS WAS LATE JANUARY AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL MID-FEBRUARY BEFORE THEY HAD AN OPEN DATE. I SCHEDULED ANOTHER SERVICE CALL AROUND THEIR SCHEDULE AND WAS CALLED MID MORNING AFTER A 8AM TO 10AM APPOINTMENT DID NOT HAPPEN. THEY SAID THAT THE SERVICE REP WOULD BE AT MY HOME AROUND 12PM. I FINALLY GOT IN TOUCH WITH HIM AND AFTER A TONGUE LASHING FROM ME, HE EXPLAINED THAT HE DID NOT KNOW OF A SPECIFIC TIME. HE FINALLY MADE THE CALL, TRIED THE NEW CONTROL BOARD IT DID NOT WORK. I CALLED POLAROID AND ASKED FOR ANOTHER TV. THEY PUT IN FOR AN "ADVANCE EXCHANGE" AND THAT WOULD HAVE TO WAIT 10 BUSINESS DAYS FOR A TRACKER NUMBER. I WAITED FOR THE MAGICAL 10 DAYS TO PASS AND THEIR RPLY WAS THAT THERE WERE NOT ANY TV'S LIKE MINE IN THEIR WAREHOUSES. I DEMANDED THAT I RECEIVE A EQUAL OR GREATER VALUE TV AND WAS GIVEN YET ANOTHER "TICKET NUMBER" AND ASKED TO CALL BACK IN TWO DAYS. I CALLED BACK IN THE ALLOTED TWO DAYS AND I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS ON BACK ORDER FO TWO WEEKS TO FOUR WEEKS. AFTER I HAD A FIT, I REQUESTED A SUPERVISOR WHO IS SUPPOSE TO CALL ME BACK IN 48 HOURS, HEY THAT' TWO MORE DAYS WITH A BETTER ANSWER FOR ME. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM CIRCUIT CITY AGAIN, NEVER BUY A POLAROID PRODUCT (NO WONDER THEY ARE GOING DOWN THE TUBES) OR ANYTHING FROM SEARS. I WILL TELL EVERYONE THAT I ENCOUNTER FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE ABOUT THESE COMPANIES AND I TRAVEL ALL OVER THE US. I WAS EVEN TOLD BY A POLAROID CUSTOMER SERVICE REP WHEN I ASKED HIM HOW WOULD HE FEEL IF HE BOUGHT A TV FOR $1,000 AND IT DID NOT WORK? HIS RESPONSE WAS THAT HE WOULD NOT SPEND THAT MUCH MONEY FOR A TV. HE WAS TOO STUPID TO SEE MY POINT, SO I SAID HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF YOU SPENT ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY AND THE TV DID NOT WORK. I THINK HE MAY HAVE GOT IT. I AM GOING TO CONTACT AN ATTORNEY AS SOON AS MY NEW 48 HOURS ARE UP.

I also bought a Polaroid 37" lcd and it has been less than 2 years and my tv want work. I turn it on and the screen is just black. I took my tv to a repair shop and they said it would cost me over $300 to repair it. I will never buy a Polaroid tv again either! I having been searching the internet and have found a lot of complaints about the Polaroid 37" tv. This tv really sucks!! Polaroid does need to be sued or either do a recall.

I too bought a 37 inch Polaroid LCD tv FLM 3732, model # 3700. And yes I too have a bone to pick with Polaroid. 16 Months after I brought home my tv, it quit coming on. Being a person with over 55 years experience in the field of electronics I thought I would fix it my self, after all I have fixed every kind of electronic equipment that has been built, all I need is a schematic. After chasing down a place to download a copy of the service manual for the Polaroid LCD TV like I have I down loaded it and began to read. First thing I found out ( there are no schematics in the service manual ) but they do have a trouble shooting chart that keeps bringing one to the conclusion that the ( Control Box Assembly ) was at fault. After all the power wont come on and without power nothing works. And the Control Box Assembly is where the power comes into the TV. Next I start looking for a place to get a Control Box Assembly to fix my set. Polaroid doesn't have them since they don't sell parts for their equipment, but they give me the names of two companies that do. So far it doesn't seem to bad and then I called about ordering the part. First I was told there were none available but were on order with no ETA as to when they would be. Expected to be four weeks or more before one could be had, not to mention that the cost of one was well over $300. This is for a part in a TV that cost about $1100 when I bought it. The part is composed of four printed circuit boards that have no more than two or three parts that would cost more than three dollars on any of them. And that price is if you bought only one at a time from some place like Radio Shack, not by the box full form a parts manufacturer. But at this time I hadn't taken the back off of the TV and thought it was probably easier to just buy it rather than fix it and ordered the part so when I took the TV apart I would have it to put in. When I looked up the part number for the Control Box Assembly and found that they had two listed for the TV I have but they have a big ( be aware of ) sign on how to tell from your serial number what model you have. So I made the right selection and ordered the part. A little over six weeks later I got the part. When I put the part in it only takes removal and replacement of three screws and the unplugging of three plugs and plugging the new part in. It is about a ten minute job. Got the new part installed and the back on and hooked up and plugged in. It didn't work. I checked and could see a raster of pixels so the power was on but nothing more. Then I checked the number of the of the part I took out with the number of the one I had put in and found them to be different, the one I took out had the number that the manual had said fit the other models than mine. So I call and get permission to send the new part back and order one like I took out, after finding out that it cost over $400 and regaining my composure. Then after a wait of a little over a week I got the new part and put it in and turned it on and guess what? It didn't work. Since then I have been reading what has been said about the trouble that others have been having with Polaroid TVs. Theirs is the same as mine. It would be a pleasure to be an expert witness in a class action suit against Polaroid.
