TECHONdigital TECHONdigital unknown New York City, Ne unknown US sales@TECHONdigital.com Techondigital offered the lowest pric available on a camera I wanted so I ordered it and they emailed me a confirmation. Later a telemarketing (on Sunday) repesentative called me to once again confirm my order. Instead he pressured me to purchase inflate priced accessories and warranty coverage. I tenatively agreed to the warranty but as the high pressure sales pich continued , I asked that he only send me the camera as agreed. At this point he stated that the whole order was cancelled due to my having cancelled th warranty. I informed the rep that I would be posting negative feed back and hung up. Fortunately my wife had listened in on an extension to the whole conversation as well as the rep further stating that I should "go f--- myself" From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Sunday, 08-Jun-08 15:18:08 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On ThisI had the same experience--great price on a camera, then they called to confirm my order and tried to sell me a 2 gig flash card for 150 dollars; you can get an 8 gig SD for 36 dollars at www.tigerdirect.com. So I called to cancel the flash card portion of the order. They offered to throw in a battery, a carrying case, and their kitchen sink, but I didn't want it. SO they said they had to cancel the whole order as they could not eliminate just part of it. When we placed the order on line five minutes later for the camera only, we got this verbatim "We thank you for your order and appreciate you shopping with us . Due to the product you ordered being out of stock for 6-8 weeks from today's date. We regret to inform you that the order is canceled due to the product being on backorder. when or if we get the product again in stock soon will send you an email to place an order please do not resubmit your order again . sorry again and thanks for your understanding ." Note that basic grammar and sentence structure are beyond their grasp, as is basic courtesy. I have now called the Better Business Bureau. Their scam is to lowball you on a camera, then overprice your accessories and basically screw you if you don't fall for it. I was not surprised to hear him say this after I told the salesman that I already bought off of eBay the duo card and extra battery kit. I knew they were liars. Stay away from this company. I hope my credit card information is safe after they canceled it. I ordered a camera because they had the lowest price online. Ordered the camera and the next day received a phone call to call them back to confirm my order. I called them back only to have someone tell me that the battery that came with the camera would only last for 30 mins or so and that is wasn't a lithium battery. He said that the battery costs $150 ( almost the same price as the camera) but could give me a deal at $99. I again told him that I didn't want the extra battery then he started yelling at me that I was an idiot and that the camera wouldn't work without the extra battery. He then hung up on me and then I received an email saying that the camera was on a 6-8 week back order and that my order was canceled. This sounds exactly like the other 10 or so comments I have read about this company. I don't know why someone hasn't shut these people down already!! After purchasing a Garmin GPS, I received the email asking me to call in to confirm my order, which I did only to be pressured to purchase an overpriced memory card and warranty. When I declined, the rep said some crude things and hung up on me. I called back the next day and was told the GPS was on back order. I immediately called back again and spoke with another sales rep who said there were plenty of them in stock. Shortly after, I received an email cancelling my order. I then wrote to the BBB and made a formal complaint. After several weeks, the BBB sent me a nice letter saying they had contacted Techondigital. The company appologized and said the item was in stock now and I was welcomed to call and reorder it. I called another sales rep at Technodigital and started to explain the comment the BBB had received from their company. The rep stopped me and said "Don't waste my time. Bottom line, what do you want?" I told him I wanted the GPS at the price on their website. He then told me that price only included a 2005 map loaded on the GPS - I would have to pay $75 more for the 2009 map. I told him to forget it and sent the BBB an updated report of what had happened. I haven't heard back from the BBB yet. How can businesses like this stay opened with so many complaints? Shouldn't some government agency be investigating them for fraud or at least unethical business practices? The comments I have read basically sum up their modus operandi. I ordered a TomTom go 920, advertised on their website at $221, which was the best price I found. After placing the order via web, I received a message to call and confirm my order, which I did. I declined to purchase the extra warranty and was told that the GPS would ship within 3 business days. Subsequently I received a message stating that the item was out of stock, that they were canceling the order, and that delivery would take 6 to 8 weeks (sound familiar?). They also said they would notify me if became available (ha ha ha!). Two days later I went to their website and noted that they had it advertised for $239. I copied and pasted the item and included in a scathing message to them. Obviously they didn't reply. I posted negative feedback on their site and on the site with which they are affiliated (Everyprice.com). So far no reply from Everyprice, either. Once I declined to purchase additional accessories at exorbitant prices, the salesman stated that the gps was going to take 6-8 weeks to arrive. How is this possible when everyprice.com stated that it was in stock and I was going to pay for 3 day shipping? I refused and had them cancel the order. The representative told us they were on 6-week backorder when I refused to buy their overpriced accessories. I called back and asked another representative (after the previous hung up on me) and asked if my gps was in stock. They said they had several. We were blatantly lied to.
