Unacceptable Business Practices

I placed an order in May, 2008. A representative called me and took the order; but said that their credit card equipment was down because there was a flood. She said if you pay by check you will not have to pay shipping. I should have realized that this was a scam. Had I paid by credit card I would have some recourse now. However, with a check I am on my own. They cashed the check May 19, 2008. I called them three times to find out when my order will be arriving. You can not speak with a person, the message says to leave a well detailed message. To date, I have not received any phone call back. I wanted to speak to a person, so I pressed #1 to "place an order". But, with that option, you still get a message that says to leave a message. There is no way to speak to a person. It has been more than two months since the order was placed and that the check was cashed, and that I have not received my order of $462.00.
