Nassau Fulton Optical - fraud

The doctor does not bother to confirm the contact lense prescription, numerous attempts from the online lense business go unanswered. When lenses arrive ($160 purchase) he informs me that when he said "the prescription did not change" during the office visit, he "just believes it did not change - he didn't actually check to be sure". Now I am out $160 because of his "ASSumption". Also, the personnel in the store is rude to say the least.

I have to agree with the poster from Orlando. I've been going to Nassau-Fulton Optical for years and the staff and the doctor have always been very professional and cordial (which I find rare in NYC). I also don't live in NY anymore -- moved to New Jersey. But I still prefer to make the special trip to downtown Manhattan for my eyecare needs because I've tried other places that are more convenient (even here in New Jersey) and wasn't satisfied with the service I got. I'm on my way to Nassau-Fulton Optical right now in fact. That's how I came across this website. I Googled the name to get their phone number to make sure the regular doctor will be in and I saw this complaint and decided to check it out. I will say this, however. I went there once when the regular doctor (Dr. Shaffron) wasn't there and there was a small Asian woman substituting for him. I found her to be very annoying and unprofessional (it was like she wasn't hearing a word I was saying) and ended up leaving before the exam was finished. But Dr. Shaffron is totally cool.

I have been going here for years. The doctor enjoys his work and is very thorough. His staff is most congenial. He's had the same staff for countless years; something must be right! I even make trips to NYC from Orlando so he can check me out. Are you sure you are describing Naussa Fulton? It doesn't sound at all like the place I go to.

I can only comment on my own experience: I have patronized Nassau-Fulton Optical for many years for both contact lenses and glasses (my office is about 8 blocks away from them) and always found the optometrist and his staff to be highly competent, extremely friendly and helpful, and, above all, their products are reasonably priced. I would not go anywhere else.
