Brandon Honda

US I recently bought a used Honda from Brandon Honda in Florida. The salesman, Steve Deltufo, assured me that that the car was certified. When I asked if it was under warranty he simply replied, "It's certified." He also assured me a second key for car. Well it turns out that the certification is useless unless you actually purchase the extended warranty, approximately another $600. Steve was deceptive about this, and I only found about this after I needed to have a part replaced and was told that Honda Cares had no record that the car was ever certified. When I went back to the dealership, I found that Steve no longer worked there. I was informed by another employee (in a less than professional manner), named "JC," that the certification applied only to the previous owner. Apparently it has nothing to do with the new owner. Oh, and of course they had no paperwork showing that I was owed another key, so I would not be getting one. In summary; 1) the Honda certification is useless unless you buy the warranty 2) Buyer Beware! The salesman just lied about the certification, it was never certified. Honda's certification doesn't require you to buy any extended warranty, in matter a fact the certified Honda vehicles come with an extension of the warranty included that goes 72 months or 100,000 power train warranty from the original date of purchase, also a secondary key is required. Sadly, salesmen behaving like the one you had give a bad name to all of the good honest people on the car business. Best regards.
