Uhaul New Liskeard, On P0J1P0 CA www.uhaul.com My father and I decided to rent a Uhaul for the second time since I'm moving to a different area. The first time we had a really bad experience with Uhaul. Back in 1995-96, we had to move my brother to Ottawa. We reserved a trailer and when we arrived at the location to pick it up on the day, they did not have one available. Frustrated, stressed and extremely disappointed, we borrowed my grandfather's old beat up trailer for a 6 hrs trip (Haileybury - Ottawa). Our trailer was hardly safe enough for the road. Now, it is my turn and my father reserved a Uhaul trailer (12x6) in New Liskeard, On, in the early part of the month of May. With our bad experience, my father called 1 week before moving day to make sure that it was still available under our name. My moving day is June 27th/08. My father received a call today (June 26th) that they didn't have a trailer for him tomorrow since the trailer has been left in Warren, ON. My father has alot of heavy appliances to bring to Ottawa (fridge,stove,washer & dryer, bbq) and we really depended on this trailer since there isn't too many options to rent trailers in New Liskeard. My father was furious with the poor customer service that we have received with UHAUL. We only made two attempts to rent one and twice we got "screwed" over. This is poor business. I have heard many horror stories with Uhaul (poor equipment and the fact of having no trailer when needed). Fortunately, my father found a smaller trailer (6x10) but we have to pay more than what we would have with UHAUL. All we needed was the Uhaul for 1 day. Now, we have to rent a trailer for the whole 4 days and bring it back. $50.00/day!!!!! We are spending nearly $150 more than suppose to. Something has to be done about this and I hope we can be compensated or credited back (the difference). We will get a receipt of the trailer we are renting. (I could sent it). UHAUL has a bad reputation and I seriously think they have to be investigated. I appreciate all the help I can get.
