I am a Tataindicom customer for over 5 years now using their dial up services.
Recently I decided to opt for a domain name thru Them and registered the same on June 24th . I paid for it thru my Net banking account and domain got registered.
I decided to get an email id attached to this domain so Today at 7:00 AM I applied for one logging in thru the dial up account as that was the only option to pay for the same.
It returned an error saying Billing Server Not available.
Over the course of the day I tried 6-7 times. No luck same result except that in the last attempt it said insufficient funds.
Out of curiosity I checked out my dialup account and it showed a balance of 59Rs. That was strange since before beginning this exercise I had topped my account to 1100Rs balance. I guessed that this Billing server error was only partial and my account was getting debited all along.
I called the customer care. In the phone menu there is no option for dialup so I pressed the broadband option. A lady picked up and the I explained my domain email id problem & the moment I told her that my account was dial up she transferred me to the dial up department against my protests. Now the dial up guy by the name of Anil spoke to me for 15 minutes but it sounded like an hour - I tried explaining to him that my dialup account had been debited so he should register a complaint but he was adamant in stating that my email was connected to the domain so the broadband people should take the complaint. By now I was loosing my cool. He transferred to Broadband again. By this while I had been holding the call for over half an hour including the on hold( blarring music) period. This fellow was absolutely dumb. Took 10 minutes to make him understand that the domain name was paid from my netbanking account two days ago , and was in no way related to todays mess. After again and again repeating to him and telling him that I did not want to talk to any more people and explain the problem from the beginning - he transferred my call after putting me on hold - telling me that he had explained the whole situation to the dial up guy and he can only register the complaint. This guy was a rascal. He had not explained anything to the new guy from dialup Rajnikanth. Unbelievable - I started the call at 12:05 PM and its 12:45 PM and again I explaining to this guy from scratch.Nobody seems to know whats going on. This guy after putting me on hold twice finally registered my complaint .
1:10 PM. I had been holding the call for over an hour.
This is horrible. I have never held this long a call.
