Rolling Hill Farms PO Box 12 Tobaccoville, NC 27050 US BUYER BEWARE......IF IS SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT USUALLY IS......esp. in the case. Here is a copy that was mailed to Mr. Hendrix....nothing has been done to resolve ANY of these issues. Our yard looks like a PASTURE....actually, I have seen pastures that look better. May 14, 2008 Rolling Hill Farms Grading, Demolition, and Landscaping P.O. Box 12 Tobaccoville, NC 27050 Attn: Mr. William K Hendrix This is to inform you in writing, in addition to the telephone call on May 9, 2008, of several problems with the workmanship and materials provided by your company for my lawn on May 7 and May 8, 2008. (1) The grading does not properly drain. This leads to pooling of water in at least two places in the front lawn, as well as several in the backyard. (2) Improper grading caused major erosion in the front yard, resulting in a substantial amount of dirt and grass seed to wash into the street. Most of this dirt ended up in front of the neighbors house. (3) The erosion revealed thousands of rocks in the fill dirt, making it impossible to get a decent stand of grass. Until rocks are removed, and/or new topsoil brought in, plus new seed.....grass will not grow. (4) There are hills, valleys, and ruts in both the front and back yard....making proper drainage impossible. This is causing a lot of washed out places. (5) It appears the corrugated pipe was not installed and graded properly. Water cannot enter into the pipe, which causing pooling at the opening. The other end of the pipe next to the driveway is washing out....again causing a major pooling problem. Both areas are a muddy mess. (6) In the back yard, grass was chopped off, leaving it uneven and rough. Again, there is a lot of rocks and debris left in the yard that needs to be either covered over or removed. (7) The area of the silk screen seems to be left unfinished, esp. the amount of large rocks that are present. (8) Lack of silk screen the left side of the yard has aided in that area being washed out as well. (9) Originally, a gutter on the back side of the house had been ran underground. It was not put back the same way. This has caused the water to drain next to the foundation and wall, under the deck, thus causing severe pooling at the access door to underneath the house. (10) While moving a piece of concrete sidewalk (which should have been done differently) the siding on the house/utility building was damaged and torn. I am in the process of getting a repair estimate. (11) In the process of dirt delivery,, the concrete driveway was damaged. I was told this may be a possibility. I will handle this repair.. (12) I spoke to you on two different occasions....May 9 and May 12. I was told that someone would be out either Monday afternoon, May 12, or Tuesday, May 13. I am still waiting. No one has called or came by to review the issues discussed above. I am informing you again of the problems and expect that you will contact me about correcting the items above per your contract.
