Fraudulent return policy

all products Canadian Tire Courtenay, BC CA Returned a rainbird sprinkler that was so poorly made that it broke at the base after 2 days of use. Sprinkler was $14.99 on the shelf but I was told I would get a credit of $5.99...the last "sale" price rather than full return on another purchase. This is the most offensive return policy I have ever encountered.
