My issues with this company have been ongoing since I canceled service in June of 2006. Six months after I had canceled my service and sent back the rented modem I received a bill for an extra month of service plus the price of the modem. When I called to pay my bill, I was told that I had no account in the system. Still I continued to receive bills, each increasing three dollars per month for a mysterious "pay by check fee". When I called the company to take care of my bill I was told that I didn't have an account in the system and so couldn't pay my bill. Yet the bills kept coming.. for two years!! I couldn't get them to stop sending me bills, but they wouldn't let me pay them. All of the customer service representatives I interacted with were extremely rude and unhelpful, even when dealing with managers. They claimed that I had not returned the modem because I had accidentally sent it back to qwest instead of to usfamily.net. This was because the package that the modem came in included two different stickers to two different addresses and no clear information on which one to use. When I asked about why it had taken them six months to send me a bill they claimed that there was some computer error- to me this points to a very disorganized system. Beware. The billing practices are sketchy at best and the customer service is horrible. I canceled my service two years ago and am still sending e-mails about my ever increasing, bogus bill.
