Harrassing Phone Calls from NCO Financial Services

Hello. I am writing to complain about NCO Financial Services. They have

been calling me two or three times a day for months to try to "collect"

a hospital fee that was paid in full in February, 2007 in Daytona Beach,

Florida. I am a Canadian and was visiting there at that time. I

developed an ear infection and went to the hospital there and paid the

bill in cash (American money) IN FULL. These people are saying it has

not been paid; and I must send them the paperwork to show it has been

paid. Who the heck are these people??? Especially after a year and a

half has passed? The person I talked to today talked for a few minutes

and then the line went dead and she did not call back. I am very

concerned about this company and the effect they might have with my

personal credit record, etc. Could you please suggest something that can

be done to get this company to cease and desist? The annoying calls are

secondary now; the very real possibility of credit problems is the major

problem now . The number they use to call me is 1-866-849-2438; the

last "reference number" they gave me was 62899U. I am appalled that

this sort of financial harrassment can be done in the first place; there

has to be some kind of illegality here. I would appreciate any help you

can offer. Thank you.

I am also getting harrassing calls from the NCO group several times a day regarding an outstanding bill that I do not owe! I told them to send the invoice in the mail but they keep insisting I pay over the phone or online. I am living in Calgary, Alberta and they are trying to collect for Alberta Health Insurance which closed their doors last year! What can I do?
