Norman, OK Wedding Photographer Alert

We hired Masterpiece Studios to do our daughters wedding photos. The photographer was on the recommendation from the Thunderbird Chapel. This was a horrible experience. If you want to spend $1500 and receive 22 engagement photos (taken with a white background and look like school photos) and 22 bridal photos...this is the place to call. All photos were edited and only the ones 'he' thought were acceptable were we allowed to see. He is rude, late, and even misses appointment times and days. The professionalism was not there! Masterpiece Studios even asked us to 'step out side and settle things' when we asked why the 11x14 photo we ordered was not mounted as it was stated in the contract. We ended up firing him (with no refund for services not provided or even obtaining copies of photos taken, we did paid an additional $250 for CD's of ALL photos, nothing was returned and we do not have any photos). The new photographer we hired 6 days before the wedding was great! We have over 150 bridal portraits alone and cannot wait to see the wedding photos.

WARNING...just because the wedding venue has a 'suggested' list of vender...do the homework and do not hire just on the recommendation and/or discount allowed. Be aware of Masterpiece Studios!!! The photos in the shop do NOT reflect the type or style of photos you will receive.

Everything is buyers beware. You do indeed need to do your homework. Freedom of choice... no one forced you to use this studio. I am actually surprised about the complaint though. Known his work for over 20 years and NEVER once had a problem....he flew to Georgia for one photo shoot and not once was he unprofessional or late. Was this a case of bridezilla through the mother? Weddings can be a stressful event without a doubt.

As the owner of Thunderbird Chapel I will say that you should obviously check our (or anyone else's)recommendations. We recommend vendors purely on the merits of their work but there are many arrangements out there where the vendor kicks back a portion of their fee to the referring business. We feel that practice can lead to abuses and we have no such arrangements with our recommended vendors. We generally recommend five different photographers for our brides to choose from and our brides are obviously able to choose one of them or any other photographer they might want to use.
