UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES

COMPANY GIVES A 3 YEAR CONTRACT WHICH UPON EXPIRATION IS AUTOMATICALLY ROLLED INTO A NEW 3 YEAR NON CANCELLABLE CONTRACT AT WHATEVER THEIR CURRENT RATE HAPPENS TO BE. THEY GIVE NO EXPIRATION NOTICE AND REQUIRE A 60 DAY NOTICE IF YOU WANT TO NON RENEW. THAT IS ASSUMING THAT YOU KNOW IT IS GOING TO EXPIRE AFTER HAVING THEM FOR 3 YEARS. IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT THIS METHOD OF BUSINESS, THEY RUIN YOUR CREDIT, KEEPING SENDING LATE NOTICES WITH LATE FEES AND INTEREST, LEAVE PHONE MESSAGES AND THEN TURN THE ACCOUNT OVER TO COLLECTION. THIS IS THE WORST AND MOST UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICE I HAVE EVER HEARD OF, ESPECIALLY FOR SENIOR CITIZENS. THIS COMPANY IS PRESENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION BY THE CONNECTICUT ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE FOR UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES

When was the last time you heard from them? A lot depends on where you live. I live in Florida. The AG in Conn has them for around 370 complaints so they are pursuing prosecution of them but that doesn't help me in Fl. Our AG hasn't had enough complaints to pursue them. After a year of back and forth with them, they made a offer to drop everything if I paid for a year of service. I offered to pay for a year without any late fees and interest but they rejected it so they are seeking legal action. Fl has now passed a law that the companies cannot rollover a contract without notice so that's good for future contracts but doesn't help me. I have tried all depts in Fl but no one wants to be involved. We will see what happens but I do not think their practices will want to be exposed in court. Keep me posted on your situation.
